The property:
Close to shops, local amenities and the beach, the residence is located on the sea front, where buildings are now listed as “Heritage of the Belle Epoque period”. Mers-les-Bains is a charming old-world resort offering an exceptional range of sporting and cultural activities to suit all tastes, in addition to some very fine gastronomic restaurants. For this reason, it has always been a very popular resort with Parisians, for whom it is very close by road or by rail.
The apartments will be comfortably furnished and fully fitted and equipped, all with terraces. The property will offer an indoor heated swimming pool, SPA Center, cleaning and reception service.
The location:
Mers-les-Bains has long been a popular resort with Parisians and Lillois for whom it is very close. Once a small fishing port, when sea bathing became popular in the latter part of the 19th century wealthy city-dwellers chose to establish their holiday and week-end residences in Mers-les-Bains. Victor Hugo, Gustave Eiffel and Jules Verne are just some of the famous personalities to have spent their holidays here.
The town still flourishes today and the resort has been awarded the “Pavillon Bleu d’Europe” award, a guarantee of the quality of its waters and cleanliness of the beach. Every year more and more splendid Belle Epoque constructions are renovated and the town is rapidly growing into one of the most upmarket resorts along the Picardy coast.
Mers-les-Bains and the neighbouring towns Eu and Le Treport are known as “The three old sisters”.
The mouth of the river Bresle is home to a large bird sanctuary, and this is one of the sites where bird-watchers gather to observe migrating flocks.
Our opinion:
While many of our clients from “the north” are seeking the warmth and sunshine of southern France, many will be charmed by the beauty of the northern French coast, from Brittany to the Pas de Calais. The old-world architecture is a fabulous asset for this area and prices are still reasonable. The well-established management has a very large portfolio of properties to choose from, so that investors wishing to enjoy some personal occupancy will not be limited in their choice of holiday destinations.
