The property:
This attractive Normand-style development will be located in the small village of Equemauville on the outskirts of Honfleur. Sitting in 5 hectares of parkland and designed in a contemporary Normand-style using the stone and timber traditionally used locally, this one storey construction will be part of a residential and hotel complex offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the beautiful Normandy countryside.
The property will consist of a total of 120 studio and one bedroom apartments, some with an extra sleeping area for two, thus sleeping up to 6 people.
The apartments will be comfortably furnished and fully equipped, and all come with outdoor parking included in the price.
The location:
Normandy’s coastline stretches 600 km from the chalk cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre to the Mont Saint Michel Abbey. The region is steeped in history tied to the successive foreign invasions and numerous historic battles that took place on its territory. Chic seaside resorts, fascinating historic cities, extraordinary Norman Romanesque abbeys, deep rural countryside and delicious local produce all contribute to making Normandy one of the most enchanting areas in France.
The department of Calvados stretches from Honfleur in the east to Isigny-sur-Mer in the west and is famed for its rich pastures and farm products: butter, cheese, cider and apple brandy named Calvados. The D-Day beaches extend along almost the entire coast of Calvados.
The picturesque and incredibly romantic harbour town of Honfleur (population 8 500), situated on the southern shores of the estuary of the River Seine opposite Le Havre, recalls a time when fishermen, pirates and explorers set sail to seek their fortunes over the seas. It has long been popular with Parisian weekenders, who flock to the pretty town to enjoy its exceptional choice of good restaurants and sandy beaches.
The stone dwellings constructed at the height of Honfleur’s glory in the 17th and 18th century remain largely intact in a warren of narrow streets around its old harbour. In the 19th century, Honfleur attracted a steady flow of artists; Turner, Monet, Courbet, to name a few.
About 15 km southwest of Honfleur lies the chic seaside resort of Deauville, sometimes known as the 21st arrondissement of Paris. A playground for the rich and famous, it is reputed for its casino, racetrack, designer boutiques, gastronomic restaurants and the Promenade des Planches, a 500 m long stretch lined with private swimming huts.
Our opinion:
A good opportunity for investors seeking the ideal combination of an excellent location and a high, well-indexed yield, with or without personal occupancy.
