Location:

On the border of the ancient Roman Domitienne highway, the medieval village of Castries, on top of a hill and surrounded by the aqueduct, is really very picturesque with its XVIIth century castle and its gardens designed by Le Notre (who is famous for the splendid gardens at Versailles). The Château is listed as the Versailles du Languedoc. This village, which counts 5200 inhabitants, has a rich cultural and historical past with many Roman and medieval remains. The area offers a rare quality of life with numerous year-round activities and events, local markets, concerts, restaurants, exhibitions… all under the legendary Languedoc sunshine.

Montpellier, one of the most popular cities in southern France, is a 10 minute drive (13 km), sandy beaches are at 20 minutes (25 km), the international golf course of Massane and La Grande Motte casino are also a few minutes away from the residence.
Montpellier airport is about 15 minutes from the estate, with good international flights, Nîmes airport is at 40 minutes and has low cost flights to and from several UK destinations, and Carcassonne airport, just under two hours away, has flights to and from Dublin.

Our opinion:

Le Mas des Cigales in Castries, so close to the two very dynamic cities of Montpellier and Nîmes, nevertheless offers the privilege of an estate nestled in a preserved natural environment. This residence is situated in a fast-growing area where capital appreciation is well above average.
