The property:

Organised as a small village, ‘Les Salines” has a total of 94 one and two bedroom apartments divided among seven small hamlets accessible via pedestrian lanes. The whitewashed cottages are built in the local Breton style, with grey slate roofs; they are fully equipped and have either a terrace or garden as well as a car park. The residence is up and running.

The commercial lease guarantees a 4.7% yield without personal occupancy.

The property is operated by Odalys Vacances, France’s 2nd largest management company with a portfolio of nearly 200 holiday
destinations.

The property is located 400 m from the beach and Batz-sur-Mer village centre, where numerous restaurants, shops and a quaint fishing harbour can be found.

The location:

Brittany offers some of the finest coastal scenery in France - much of its charm is due to its Celtic roots and its intimate relationship with the sea. The region boasts dozens of classic sea-side resorts in an extraordinary holiday playground, where one can enjoy a large array of water-sports such as sailing, surfing, jet-skiing, diving, kite-surfing, as well as golfing and horse-riding.

Blessed with a pleasant climate, warm but never too hot in the summer, the Breton coast is a favourite holiday spot for tourists from around Europe, and also has a number of lively cities such as Vannes, Brest, Quimper and Nantes. The coastline, which is alternatively rugged and lined with long beaches of fine golden sand, gives way to a scenic interior of green pastureland cut by sauntering rivers. The plains of the Breton marshes and the Poitevin marshes to the south offer a huge variety of settings, while many of the inland villages boast a rich historic heritage with a large array of prehistoric and medieval remains.

The region is also known for the quality of its produce; poultry, meat and vegetables and fine wines.

Brittany is also reputed for its gastronomy, particularly sea-food, meat and fine fresh fruit and vegetables, which are produced locally.

Our opinion:

This property is owned by the Belambra management company (formerly VVF) that has been operating this and over 60 other resorts successfully for over 40 years. As part of a major restructuring project, Belambra are renovating and redecorating their properties before reselling them to private individuals under the leaseback scheme. A historic management company in France, Belambra properties benefit from some of the most exquisite and sought-after locations in the country.
