25/ Title deed

This is the title deed or “deed of sale” and only once you have signed this are you the true owner of your property.
The title deed or “acte authentique” is usually signed about 4 - 8 months after you have reserved your property, but it can sometimes take longer, up to one year in some cases.
The title deed contains all the information on your property and what it includes (parking space, garden etc.) and is also the proof that your property is correctly recorded with the national land registry. Although the French are famous for their red tape, you can be certain that all the paperwork will be fully in order before this final deed is signed.
